Students applauded and cheered at the every move of the South Korean national soccer team coach Hong Myung-bo.
The opening game of the national high school league was held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Janghoon High School in Seoul's Yeongdeungpo district. The game on the day was more meaningful to students than expected. It was reported that national team coaches such as Hong Myung-bo, Park Geon-ha and Kim Jin-kyu will visit the site to watch the players' matches.
As a result, crowds gathered, which could hardly be considered a simple high school game, and players also mobilized their utmost efforts. The result was victory for Janghun High School 3-1.
However, the purpose of his visit to Janghun High School was not to select players for the national team. Coach Hong Myung-bo visited the site as part of his efforts to find out the base of elite soccer players in relation to the Korean Football Technology Philosophy (MIK).
Coach Hong Myung-bo has paid keen attention to MIK since he was executive director of the Korea Football Association. Currently, the coach wants to share the same values not only for national teams but also for national teams by age and elite soccer teams. Although it is not an easy route, coach Hong Myung-bo and his team diagnosed the environment and objective reality of grassroots soccer by running on their feet.
After the first half, Hong Myung-bo met with reporters and talked with them. "I used to come here often, but I couldn't for a while. It feels good to see such young players today, and it is all the more meaningful because I feel like I am looking at the future of Korean soccer."
He also said, "I saw some talented players among the players who are playing now," adding, "We can't expect everything from them right now. I think the character and attitude of players with current and invisible talents will work differently in a few years from now on. It is the best thing for them to grow up well in the future for Korean soccer."
When asked about the progress of the MIK that Hong Myung-bo is making efforts for, he said, "We conducted the MIK workshop in August last year. The KFA itself conducted the workshop in December last year and March this year. I am really interested in this area. I also need to nurture these players to strengthen Korean soccer." 먹튀검증
"They are only one to two years apart from Yang Min-hyuk and Bae Jun-ho who are currently playing in Europe. Only when these players become good players can the national team become stronger. It is time to pay more attention to youth soccer than ever before," he added.
"MIK is designed to nurture talented players. However, there is also a program to nurture competent leaders. It is also being taught under the leadership of FIFA. That is also a very important part. Only good leaders can we nurture creative players," he said.
